VOLUNTEER AT VERKET

Join us in making Verket 2026 the best festival yet!

To all previous volunteers at Verket, thank you! Without you, the festival would never have been what it is today.

Do you want a festival experience where, in addition to taking part in best party of the year, you get a look behind the scenes? You should volunteer at Verket!

Verket is dependent on the efforts of our amazing volunteers. Volunteering won’t make you rich, but we can guarantee a fun experience, great memories and new friends. To work at Verket you have to be at least 18 years old.

Join our Facebook-group for volunteers here.

10-12h = day ticket
20-24h = full festival ticket

Note: The length of the shift varies depending on different work areas and whether you work before or after the festival. If you are scheduled for an 11-hour shift, you must work the entire shift to receive a day pass.

JOBS YOU CAN APPLY TO

  • The arena crew helps with wrapping up and clearing the venue after the festival. This entails taking down and packing up the stages, bars, tents, signs and fences for storage, among other things.

This is physically demanding work, so a bad back etc. makes you unsuitable for this department.

  • Experience from bar and service is very welcome, but not necessary. What matters most is that you’re positive and service-minded, and that you’re able to handle a fast paced environment.

This is physically demanding work, so a bad back etc. makes you unsuitable for this department.

  • Verket needs volunteers to man the booth where our audience exchange their tickets for wristbands before the festival. If you work during the festival, you’ll be at the entrance scanning tickets and giving out wristbands, and/or making sure the crew gets the right accreditation to enter the venue.

Let us know in your application if you have any relevant experience.

  • Stage- and steelhands help make sure everything flows smoothly on stage during the festival. As a steelhand you’ll be working before the festival with building our stages. Stagehands work during the festival, loading equipment between shows.

This is physically demanding work, so a bad back etc. makes you unsuitable for this department. It is very important that you are alert and quick to respond in a fast paced environment. Let us know in your application if you have any relevant experience.

  • This department ensures that the arena remains clean and tidy for both the audience and the crew. Tasks include picking up litter, emptying trash bins, and transporting waste to the environmental station. You'll be able to experience concerts and the festival atmosphere while doing an extremely important job for Verket.

  • At Verket, we have many gates that need to be monitored. This includes the gates between the main area and Verksmessa, as well as vehicle entry gates. Here, you ensure that only people with the correct accreditation are allowed to pass, and you open/close the gate after each passage. You’ll also deliver the headsets to Silent Disco.

Does your club or organization want to earn money at Verket?

In addition to our volunteers, we are often in need of more hands before, during and after the festival. If your soccer team, band or association wants to make some money at Verket, contact frivillig@verket.no.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

  • As a volunteer you earn a day ticket or full festival pass, depending on how many hours you work. You’ll get a volunteer-wristband that you need to wear to enter the arena when you’re working. When you’re at work, we expect you to work your full shift. If you don’t, you will be invoiced for the festival ticket.

  • We have a simple philosophy:

One shift (ap. 10-12 hours) = day pass

Two shifts (ap. 20-24 hours) = full festival ticket

NB: the duration of shifts vary in different departments, and whether you’re working during or before/after the festival. If you have been assigned a shift that lasts 11 hours, you will be aqquired to work the full shift for your day pass.

Some shifts are shorter than 10 hours, if you’re working a shorter shift, contact our volunteer leader on how to arrange your ticket.

If you want to work through the entire festival, you can give your ticket to a friend :)

  • To volunteer at the evening-portion of the festival, you have to be over 18. If you’re younger, you can volunteer for Underverket, our family show Saturday afternoon.

There is no upper age limit, and we very much welcome adult volunteers!

  • Sorry, you have to be over 18 at the time the festival opens.

  • In our volunteer canteen, there is always friendly staff on hand. The canteen is open during the festival’s opening hours, and a selection of food and drinks is served.

  • You can request which days you want to work. We try to facilitate for all, but can’t guarantee that we’ll be able to meet all requests.

When you’re registered, you will receive an e-mail containing which department and shift(s) you’ve been assigned.

  • We try our best to facilitate you working with a friend, but with hundreds of shifts and volunteers, we can’t always fulfill all wishes. Please bear with us on this, and think of all the new, cool people you can get to know working at the regions biggest festival!

  • In 2025, around 500 fantastic volunteers and community contributors took part.

  • In the application form, you can range which three departments you most want to work in, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your wishes.

  • When you sign the working agreement at the check in, you agree to working the shifts you’ve been assigned. You simultaneously confirm that if you don’t show up for work, you will be invoiced for a full festival ticket times two. If you get sick, or there are valid reasons for not being able to show up to work, get in contact with the volunteer leader asap.
